Quote of the Day
You know, my hesitation to fully embrace Vampire Weekend might stem from the fact that if you take preppy yacht rock too far, you end up back at Jimmy Buffet.--Carrie Brownstein
And speaking of yacht rock...

Plaidness
One night last week I binged on every My So-Called Life clip that YouTube has to offer. Even though I remembered Angela having some signature plaid items, I was shocked to notice just how much plaid there was in this show. I mean, it's everywhere! Sometimes she wears several plaid items layered on top of each other. And just look at the amount of plaid in this one clip alone. Everyone is wearing it.
With that as inspiration, I think it's time to start layering different plaids. Here's some inspiration:
Clockwise from top left: Scarf by Urban Outfitters, trench by Walter, dress by In God We Trust, cotton tunic by Chloe, blouse by 3.1 Phillip Lim, dress by Forever 21, wool cape by Hayden-Harnett, panties by Steven Alan, skirt with matching bra top by Tibi, tank by Delia's, shirt and shorts by Staerk, rain booties by Go Jane!, gown by Ralph Lauren ready-to-wear
